Despite several flagship smartphones already hitting the shelves in 2025, major players such as Apple, Samsung, Google, Nothing, and Poco are yet to launch their top-end devices. These upcoming models are expected to shape the premium smartphone segment in the latter half of the year. Here's a breakdown of five highly anticipated devices.
Nothing Phone 3 to Debut in July
Nothing is set to unveil its first flagship smartphone, the Nothing Phone 3, on July 1. Departing from the mid-range approach of its predecessor, this device is likely to feature Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. Leaks suggest a 6.77-inch AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate and 3,000 nits peak brightness.
The Phone 3 is rumored to offer up to 12GB RAM, 512GB storage, and a 5,000mAh battery — potentially using Silicon-Carbon technology. Wireless charging may also return. Camera specs reportedly include a 50MP triple camera system. It will likely run Nothing OS 3 based on Android 15 and be priced around £800 (approx. Rs 90,000). Notably, the company plans to retire its signature Glyph interface with this release.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 with Enhanced Features
Samsung is expected to introduce its Galaxy Z Fold 7 foldable phone by August at the Galaxy Unpacked event. Reports indicate an 8.2-inch inner AMOLED display and a 6.5-inch cover screen. The device may incorporate the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chip, a performance improvement over previous models.
While an "Ultra" version was teased, insiders suggest the Fold 7 itself will receive high-end enhancements, including a 200MP main camera. Samsung has indicated a slimmer and lighter design, though pricing details remain undisclosed.
Poco F7 Aims for Flagship Value
Set to launch later this month, the Poco F7 is rumored to be a rebranded version of the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro. If accurate, the device will include a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor and a 6.83-inch LTPO AMOLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate.
Expected features include 16GB RAM, 512GB UFS 4.0 storage, and a 7,550mAh battery with 90W wired charging. The dual camera setup may consist of a 50MP Sony LYT-600 sensor and an 8MP ultrawide lens. Poco is likely to price the F7 between Rs 30,000 to Rs 35,000.
Apple iPhone 17 Series Brings Design Shift
Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 Pro Max could mark a departure from the usual design template. Leaked renders indicate a wide rear camera island housing three lenses. The device is expected to be powered by the A19 Pro chip and may include a 48MP telephoto sensor.
Although final specifications are unconfirmed, the iPhone 17 line appears to target a more significant upgrade compared to the incremental iPhone 16 series.
Pixel 10 Series May Ditch Samsung Chips
Google's Pixel 10 series has been frequently sighted in leaks, revealing potential performance gains via the new Tensor G5 chipset manufactured by TSMC. The Pixel 10 series is anticipated to maintain the Pixel 9's exterior design but introduce additional color variants.
Camera hardware may largely remain unchanged, although the base model might include a telephoto lens for the first time. The lineup will consist of the Pixel 10, 10 Pro, 10 Pro XL, and 10 Pro Fold. While pricing for the Pixel 10 and 10 Pro is expected to stay the same, the Pixel 10 XL might see a $100 increase. The Fold model could debut at $1,600.
